Post Office Closures
Cathy Peattie is to meet representatives of the Royal Mail Group to discuss
local post office closures in Stenhousemuir, Skinflats and Brightons.
"I'm very concerned about these closures. I have been in touch with
post offices, customers and local councillors. These post offices are
an important part of their communities, and I am looking to help anyone
wanting to campaign against closure.
"Speaking to local people and looking at the post office case as
presented in their closure documents, it appears that their decisions
may be based on misinformation about local situations, both with regards
to existing usage and the difficulties of accessing alternative post offices.
"I will raise this with the Royal Mail, and would appreciate people
getting in touch with any other points they would like to see raised."
